Just a few pre-sales questions if anyone has the answers.

(1) If I hook a gigabit switch into one of the LAN ports on the Z100G, will I still receive gigabit speed network traffic between computers connected to the gigabit switch (file sharing, network drives, etc.)?

(2) Is the 5 (or upgrade to 15) simultaneous user connections only for internet access or for computer-to-computer traffic as well? If I have 10 computers and a few network devices attached to the gigabit switch, will all network traffic be limited to 5 users or 15 users if I upgrade, or is that specifically for simultaneous internet connections only.

Thanks very much,
Eric

Let me clarify that second question. Are the number of DHCP connections this router will assign limited to 5 or 15 or is that just for Internet connectivity? Thanks.

The 5 or 15 licenses are for access to the Internet. You can have many more computers on the internal network than there are licenses for. I have had as many as 10 on my 5 license box.

Do be aware that other devices that access the Internet will each take a license. I have a network hard drive that did this until I wrote a rule to block it.

Yup - they'll throttle to 100 mbit when they hit the ZA100 though.

Don't go riding on that long black train.
