I have an old Dell latitude lap top with a wireless Newtwork PC card from Linksys. The unit worked well on my old wireless router but can't seem to get it to connect to the Z100G.

The Dell can see the network but it wont connect to it. I am wondering if the problem is with the incription as the Z100G is set for WPA-Personal but the encription on the Dell options are WEP 64 or 128.

My newer laptop had no issues and when I turned it on the laptop provided me a list of networks, I chose the one for the Z100G and then it just asked me for the Phrase and I was connected.

So is my old Dell not going to be able to use the Z100G?

Thanks in advance.

A few suggestions:

> See if there is updated software for the current card. Probably not, but it never hurts to check.

> Set the Z100 to WEP. Not the best solution, but better than no encryption.

> Buy a new card that is compatible with Windows 2000 and can do WPA.

> Install XP if the laptop can handle it. XP SP2 has WPA built in.

> Retire the tired old Dell and get a newer computer that can run XP or Vista.

Good Luck!
