I was hoping that the new firmware would have a feature to give priority for internet access to certain PCs in the event all licenses were in use.
I sometimes run into issues when the kids have friends over and burn up all the licenses... I'd like my PC to be able to kick one of them off so I can get on .... I've looked but don't see it ... any joy there? Thanks, Jim |

I do not see this, but I recall that this has been suggested before. I think that someone suggested a button where the admin could do it manually.
Another way would be to limit DHCP addresses to one less than the number of licenses. You would have to configure your computer (and any others) with static addresses. Another way is to add each visiting computer as a network object and write rules that blocks each from the net. I did that with a network storage device that wants to continually check the time. |

Thanks KBR!
I had not thought about limiting the number of DHCP leases and then setting up the "geeks" with static IPs.... That could work. I was hoping that this would be a feature of 8.x ... Thanks, Jim |
