I did a compare a while back, and the cost of the annual updates for the 500w series is MUCH higher than the Z100G.
IMHO this, at least in part, a "product positioning" strategy. and... again, IMHO, It seemed to me that the Z100G provided "most" of the features of the 500w but at a much lower annual subscription cost ... as long as you could survive with 5 or (upgrade) to 15 node license. There is a problem with how the node licenses are administered in 7.0.48x version of the firmware (which so far as I know is the current version).
