We connect using wireless to the Z100G with three different laptops. Two running XP, one Pro and the other Home. The third laptop is running Vista Business edition. The XP laptops connect and stay connected.
The Vista laptop will reliably get a connetion and keep it for long periods of time. But once in a while the Vista laptop cannot communicate on the network. The first time this happened one of the other laptops was on-line and communicating perfectly. So thinking it was the Vista computer I got in and did everything I could think of, including blowing away and redoing the network connector. Nothing worked. I then restarted the Z1000G and it came back perfectly. It has since then done it two or three more times and each time a restart fixes the problem. Does anyone have any idea of what causes this and what the cure is? This message has been edited. Last edited by: KBR, |

Did you take a look at the logs on your laptop AND your Z100G? I'm asking to avoid blind speculation on the matter.

Thats the odd thing. Both the laptop and the Z100G usually say everything appears normal. Because of what happens with other laptops running XP, I suspect it to be more Vista's problem than the Z100G. I suspect an incompatability between Vista and the Z100g. In Vista I tried both WPA2-Personal and WPA-Personal. I have put the old WAP back on-line just to get a reliable wireless connection. Thanks for the response. |

KBR,
Did you try fixing the security encryption method on WAP or WPA2? Try fixing it to either TKIP or AES, this can be done using the last firmware. You can also try disabling the WMM feature Regards -------------------------------- so far so good |
