Hi,

Just bought a used Zone Alarm for 30 Bucks. Figured you couldn't beat the price for what you were getting although I don't know if the subscribtion is still valid or what firmware it has yet.

Just a few questions:

A) Does anyone know if you can SSH into the router and if so what commands are available?
1) If not, how can you enable it or is
it possible?
B) Are you able to get firmware updates if you don't have the subscription?
1) If I can't how much does sub cost?
C) Any other available alternative firmwares to the router like DD-WRT for the linksys?

Comment: I've always found link logger highly beneficial to my linksys router with DD-WRT

E) How much RAM comes installed on the unit or does it provide any sort of caching feature?

Good question: My gut answer is NO because I haven't seen a reference to it anywhere for the device itself. However, You can pass SSH through to a server.

No. You must buy the subscription at $69 per year.

No. So far no one has bothered to mess with this ROM as it is licensed from CheckPoint.

Yes. Not sure what version of the ROM it started with, but its available in the 8.x.x series. I use Kiwi Syslog for a server.

Looks like it has about 8mb for carrying out functions. No idea what the ROM size is. As for caching it's limited to what is being scanned in real time, but there is no content caching.

A. No, the Z100G doesn't have SSH support.
B. No, you cannot.
C. I'm not aware of any option to install another firmware on it.
E. It comes with either 32 or 64MB flash memory.
