Does anyone know if it is possible to make a wireless bridge of two Z100Gs similar to bridging two wireless access points?

I've never seen a setting to do this, but my first thought would be to buy a <ehem> less expensive router to use in AP mode and just let a single Z100G be the big Kahuna!

I have set up several networks in this way using the Belkin Pre-N router for the APs.

Lots of other routers have a config. option to put them into AP mode, I chose the belkin because it was inexpensive seemed to have GREAT range, and also has lifetime warranty.

Jim,

I've read some of you other postings about using another company's AP to connect to the Z100G. When you do this, especially, with the Belkin, do you connect via wireless? If yes, were you able to use WAP or WAP2 for security rather than WEP?

Yes initially I did implement WPA and had no issues doing that thru the devices that were configued as APs.

Using the other devices as APs is less expensive up front and also saves money annually as you only have the one subscription to renew.

Also, at least in my case the license use count(ing) is all done in one place.

(Edit - thinking about this again, if you had a Z100G as an AP uplinked to another Z100G that was the router, I'll bet a device attached to the AP would "consume" a license on both units?)

I have a Belkin wireless AP that is connected via WPA to the Z100G. I use this because my wife's work laptop is setup in a way that she can't use wireless. So for her to be able to work from other areas of the house, I setup the Belkin which has an RJ45 network jack on the back. She just plugs in the wire and away she goes. Sometimes, my wife will take the AP to other rooms of the house depending on where she wants to work from. My daughter can also connect wireless via the Belkin or through the Z100g. Works well.
