About a week ago i noticed that my Downloads have a bottleneck they go to 500KB a sec down to bits a second under 1KB a sec and hover around there. I can barely browse the new I hooked into the Cable modem directly and the issues goes away. so it has to be the z100g any ideas?

Sounds related to the the content filtering or email scanning. I had somewhat of a similar issue when the scanning was added. It resolved itself eventually and I chalked it up to an update.

Try shutting of email scanning and virus scanning. Then remove URL filtering. Each is suspect.

The only two other ideas I have are eliminated by virtue of directly connecting to the cable modem.

Lastly, if you messed the SmartDefense settings or added firewall rules, it may need a factory reset to get it back on track.
