I am having problems with my wife's Dell Inspiron laptop/VISTA and the Z100G.
The connection is at best hit or miss. The service, or lack of it seems to break down as: No service - 10% "Identifying" - 20% "Local Access Only" -25% Full access - 45% The laptop is less than 25 feet from the router but does not have direct LOS. VISTA continues to suggest rebooting the router, which does not cure the problems. There are several unsecured LINKSYS routers in the building which give consistant access. The building is poured concrete and rebar, 9" walls, 14" floors. One of the routers is about 300 feet away in the other tower though there is direct LOS through the windows. So, do I replace the Z100 with another unit? Or is it something in VISTA that might never be solved? Thanks, John |

I had the same problems. I am pretty sure that one of 2 things solved my problems.
1> Disable the IPV6 in Vista. (most probable). 2> Went back to WPA from WPA2 (changed both the Vista computer and the Z100G). I still have to retry the WPA2. There was an article in a trade magazine this week that said people are having problems with IPv6 in Vista. It specifically mentioned one company was having corrupt print jobs sent to network printers that stopped once they got rid of IPv6. |
