Has anyone had luck figuring out all the ports and settings to get a XBOX360 to be able to host a game behind a ZA100? Been trying to futz with this for a bit and it keeps complaining im behind a Strict NAT and wont be the host for a game... (i.e i can join a game in progress, but can't be the first player to start a game)

It is important to know which ports are used by the xbox360
here are a few ways
1. through the relevant MS site
2. put in a rule in the z100g to log the activity from the xbox360 to the WAN and vise versa
if you see blocked invomming traffic that you suspect as xbox360 related use allow and forward rule to the xbox ip
i hope this helps you

Iv set the rules and i still think im missing something....

According to the Xbox tech notes I only should need rules 5-7, but read another document that said 8-9 can be used...

1 Allow and Forward WAN (Internet) HomeServer (Network Object):8000 - 8008 (TCP)
2 Allow and Forward WAN (Internet) HomeServer (Network Object):8080 - 8085 (TCP)
3 Allow and Forward WAN (Internet) HomeServer (Network Object):443 (TCP)
4 Allow and Forward WAN (Internet) HomeServer (Network Object):4125 (TCP)
5 Allow and Forward WAN (Internet) Xbox360 (Network Object):88 (UDP)
6 Allow and Forward WAN (Internet) Xbox360 (Network Object):3074 (TCP)
7 Allow and Forward WAN (Internet) Xbox360 (Network Object):3074 (UDP)
8 Allow and Forward WAN (Internet) Xbox360 (Network Object):2074 (TCP)
9 Allow and Forward WAN (Internet) Xbox360 (Network Object):2074 (UDP)

As an aside, what is Redirect to port in the Advanced settings of the rules..

Im wondering if the Xbox wants to see a fixed ip, not a dynamic... Since i have a network object set to an IP address, is it safe to just assign the Xbox a fixed ip in its configuration menu and the Za100 will not re-assign the Network Object assigned IP ?

Figured out part of the problem...
The IP of the network object changed ...

Think it was before i enabled wlan/lan bridging when i created the rule.... and for some reason the Network Object no longer reconized the 360.. and never got to assigningit an IP.. it just retrieved a random IP from the pool...

I thought that was what mac addresses in the network object rules was to prevent...

Unfortunately this did not entirely solve the problem.. Xbox still thinks its behind a Strict NAT and doesn't want to host games...

What is the best way to see what's not getting to the Xbox360...

I think i got a clue as to whats happening... ICMP packets are not making it to the 360 even after what i thougt was the proper rule...

Dunno what im missing, i dont have ICMP set to drop on the floor as far as i can tell...
