I was getting a constant 10mb/sec download, now with web filtering turned on, it drops down to 5mb/sec download. When I turn web filtering off, it jumps back up to 10mb/sec download. Why is web filtering slowing down the connection and is there a fix for this?
I have dsl and i get the same speed (up & down) with filtering on or off. How are you measuring? I'm using dslreports.com speed test. It's my understanding that only port 80 traffic is web filtered.
Remember, if you have filtering on or Vstream the ZA has to actually apply the filter to the incoming data so of course theres going to be a performance hit. But I tend to agree.. it shouldnt have quite the overhead it currently does... Its no different than a PC in this regard... If you have AV software on it and content protection, its going to slow things down a bit... (esp if its filtering by proxy)
