For Christmas I bought a pair of the OLPC (one laptop per child) laptops. I have one, the other is on its way to a delighted kid somewhere in the third world. I'd have to say that for $200 this is an excellent machine. Naturally to keep the cost and CPU requirements down it runs a Linux OS not Windows and Alas, I don't know diddly (yet) about Linux. The unit can see my wireless work and appears to be able to enter it, but then gets knocked off.... If anybody has any Ideas I could us a hand -- log entry sequence below

Thanks!!!!
Jim

I had a similar problem once.

Check the following:
SSID - it is case sensitive
Key - it is case sensitive
that you have the MAC Address allowed

Thanks KBR

I have broadcast SSID turned on and the OLPC picks up the name, so that should be right...

I do not have MAC filtering enabled.....

I have triple-checked the key and that is correct but .......... now that I think about it I wonder if the OLPC is case IN-Sensitive I also have some "funny" characters in the key I wonder if the OLPC is just not that smart.......???

I'll try a temporary simplistic key in the router and see if that helps...........

Thanks,
Jim
