Hi guys and gals-just spent a few hours trying to get my Z100G working since I upgraded to Comcast Digital Voice, which required swapping out my Cable Modem to one those Telephony Cable Modems. Had a bear of a time getting my router to work. The fix was simply going to into the Advanced settings in Network/Internet/Edit and choosing MAC Cloning, "this computer". (The PC comcast had used to intialize my new cable modem.)
Interestingly enough, I have had Comcast Cable Broadband for years, with 2 different routers and 2 different cable modems, and I never had to clone a MAC Address to get it to work until now. But neither my Z or my old Linksys Wireless B router would work without cloning my PCs mac addy. Somebody else may run into this, so thought I would post it. Do you think Comcast changed something on their end on purpose to "discourage" multiple PCs on one connection? |
