Hi all,

as far as I know the Z100 has the dynamic DNS feature (if suscribed, as in my case).

So, it should be possible, to access the device (yes, it's enabled - access from ANY networks thru https), by typing

https://gatewayname.myzonealarm.net:981

right?

Well, it doesn't. Pinging the name shows the ip-adress (which is actually at that moment assigned), but can't access the device.

Is someone using this dynamic DNS feature, or do I have to get an dynDNS account?

BTW, I have to admmit that the device is acting only as a firewall and Wlan AP (sitting behind the main router, needed for my VDSL connection).

Any help would be appreciated.

Kind regards,
Key

Dear Key,

If your Z100 is behind another router then you need to ask your ISP to forward port 981 to the Z100 so you can manage it remotely.

Hi Ido,

well, it's not only port 981.
I want to set up some services behind the z100 (lan), like webserver, mailserver and I need a dynamic ip-adress.

It should work actually so, because the first router doesn't block nothing.

And Ido, do we have with the subscription the dynamic service?

Thx,
Key

Every Z100G that has subscriptions have DDNS as part of them.
While the ISP router doesn't block anything it is probably doing NAT, so you need to forward the ports both on the ISP router and on the Z100G

Ido.
