I am about to purchase a Z100G to replace a very old Linksys wrt54g currently in use from a Hughes HN7000S. Are there any current issues via Hughes satellite? Forum implies there is/was problems with WildBlue but I didn't see anything for Hughes? Anyone using the Z100G with Hughes and are you satisfied. Any reason why it won't work as advertized on Hughes? Thanks Andy

Be careful... Wild Blue is not the only satellite system that has troubled the Z100G. I was a subscriber to Xplornet, a Canadian Satellite ISP using similar technology to Wild Blue.
My Z100 worked OK on Xplornet satellite until firmware v7x arrived, but refused to connect thereafter. Sofaware Tech Support was very helpful, and eventually got me going again after tweaking the Z100 via HTTPS. If you have alternatives, I'd strongly advise against using satellite... it's very slow and clunky vs WiFi. We just got Xplornet WiFi here... I was able to get off the sat and go to WiFi at no charge, and now get three times the bandwidth for half the monthly price. And no thunderstorm blackouts. Good luck ValleyDawg |

I have been using Hughes with Z100G since 05 with no problems at all. Both the modem and Z100G coexist exceptionally well.
