Did a search on both KB and Forum, came up empty, so hope that someone can answer this for me...

One of my machines is a MacBook, and ever since I installed the appliance, it has been periodically disconnecting in the middle of web sessions for no apparent reason. This does not happen with any of my Wintel machines.

Some more info:
Symptom: Web sessions in Safari or FireFox become unresponsive.
Current Fix: Reacquisition of DHCP Lease
Log: Every time this happens, I have a "TCP out of state" message in the log: Here's one
00154 25Aug2007 20:44:01 TCP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx(MacLaptop) [TCP out of state] 57899 216.239.116.43 80 (HTTP)

If someone can shed some light on this, it'd be greatly appreciated. This is my better half's machine, and reacquiring DHCP is usually accompanied by noise I'd like to minimize moving forward :)

Thanks,

LPB

Hi, I've got the same problem on my macbook too.
The workaround is to set the 'Strict TCP' action setting in SmartDefense to 'None'.

Strict TCP controls the way the firewall handles all out-of-state TCP packets.
Out-of-state packets are SYN-ACK or data packets that arrive out of order, before the TCP SYN packet.

Best regards,
Bram
