I have about 3 weeks left on my first year contract. In checking, it looks like the renwal cost is $179. But at the ZoneAlarm website I get buy a new z100g for $149 with shipping.

Am I missing something or is buying new hardware the cheaper way to go?

But for $69.95 I get very little but basic support.

If I want gateway antivirus I have to pay $179 and another $49 for web filtering for a total of $228!

But I can get all of that and a new z100g for $149.95 w/ shipping. Saving $78 and getting another AP to boot!

Is my math wrong or is marketing screwed up?

My choices and pricing are quite different the price your are quoting. Obviously, I would be thrilled to get the lower price and all the same features I have come to rely on for the past 11 months.

OK, we are going in the right direction. I checked the same link from my Z100g and got the new page with the updated pricing of $69.95 listing: "1 Year Support and Subscription, Antivirus, and Web Filtering [ST-CPZA-5]."

But note, the link right next to it ("Tell me more") actualy describes "less" as that pop up window only shows:

Regarding the line item "Security and firmware updates", does this mean we cannot manually update our Z100G's with new firmware releases if we do not renew our subscriptions?
