This is strange,,,,,I am the admin for my Z100G and whenever I try to disable a port or select none,,,,,I get the Error: you are not licensed to perform this task.

I have disabled them in the past and I can enable them but not disable them anymore.
any ideas?

Hi Mike,
Are you sure your account on the Z is set to Read/Write?

You can check this by logging ito the Z and going to "users" from the menu on the Left. See if your account has "Read/Write" chosen as the Administrator Level.

Yes it sure is, I actually checked that as I was suspicious of that too,,,,,I used to be able to change it and I have made no changes to my user profile,,,I thought maybe it was a firmware issue at first....Im running the latest firmware

dichamw,
If you want to go back to a previous version of the firmware, others have had tech support do that for them. also-you can set software updates to manual instead of automatic, and/or export a working config for import at a later time.

Hi Mike,
Not sure what else to suggest-Have you tried completely logging out of the Z, dumping cokies and cache, and retrying? If that doesn't work for you-perhaps you should open a suport ticket?

Why go through all the trouble with tech support to get a previous firmware to timely fix? Understand the auto/manual update. Once you decide to update manually and it still doesn't work out for you. You still got to go through the all hoops for the last good firmware. Most other routers manaufactuers allow you to go site for all firmware updates, why does this has to be different?

Not if you have your own backups. ;-)

It is my understanding you can simply import a good config you saved previously. Wouldn't this accomplish the same thing? Allowing you to go back to a previous version of the firmware??

(Go to 'Setup', 'Tools', 'Export' to save a good working setup of your Z, which you can 'Import' back at a later date.)

But I do see your point re. making them easily available for download, thereby saving the time/trouble of a tech support chat to find a version you liked better.

I save my config and reapply it after a new firmware update incase the firmware update blows away my config, which seem to happen this last 38x update to me. I don't believe the config save also saves the firmware. Does anybody knows this for sure?

Maybe it doesn't then. I haven't had any major problems with 3.8-I lost the categories under web filtering-but others have already notified tech support and they are working on a fix-other than that-I haven't have any trouble.

You can open the "cfg" file saved from the Z110G using notepad. It is simply a "text" file. No firmware there.
