Hi, I recently received my z100g yesterday and was able to hook everything up perfectly. The problem I have is that the laptop in the other room (roughly 12 feet away from my room) barely or does not even receive the router signal. If I bring the laptop into my room, I can get a full signal. I know that the further away you are from the router, the weaker the signal becomes, but 12 feet is'nt all that far! unless the walls between my room and the other are made of super thick material, I don't know what the problem is. Oh, and I've also messed with the settings such as enabling extended range mode which didnt work. Lowering RTS Threshold and/or Fragmentation threshold didn't work either. Funny thing is, the laptop can receive other signals in my area with higher strength than my own. I just don't understand how that happens.

I had something like this happen just after I got my Z100G. I was running another WAP on my network that I turned off eventually.

In the "Advanced Settings" for the wireless make sure that the transmitter power is 100%.

You might also try changing channels to something other than the default.

Make sure the antennas have good contact and are snugged down.

Also make sure that things like metal file cabinets are not in the way.

Wireless phone sets on the same frequency can cause problems.

Do you have metal studs in your house?

Hello All
Thanks for all the great comments
I would like to add that it could be an issue with the channels that by default are set to automatic if your neighbor by any chance is using the same channel as you your signal lowers
Please try to set the channel to a high one and tel us how it went
