Has anyone successfully made a VPN connection using either the built in Apple iPhone VPN connectivity or the CheckPoint iConn iPhone App to a Z100G?

I have tried using both to establish a connection to and have been not able to do so.

I have been able to connect to the Z100G using the VPN-1 SecuRemote application running on a laptop, but I have not found an IPSec configuration that works on the Iphone.

When I try to connect with the Iphone using the iPhone built in VPN client and IPSec only, in addition to an "Account" and "Password" (which I am entering based on my username and password w/VPN rights on the Z100G) I am also prompted for a "secret". I don't have any certificates installed on the Iphone, so that option is greyed out.

If I put in a value in the 'secret', I can see in the Z100G events log that it tries to establish a connection, but it fails logs a message that there is "no common method"

When I try to connect with the Checkpoint iConn,
i actually get the a message on the iPhone with the "fingerprint" codes for the Z100G, but then I get a message that the client is not supported or the server is not configured properly and the connect fails. Interestingly, there is no log entry on the Z100G.

Any ideas on how to connect via VPN on an iPhone?

The iConn client is not supported on SofaWare appliances.
As the Z100G does not include L2TP VPN, if you want to connect from an iphone then you will need a Safe@Office appliance.
