I have recently purchased a Z100G and am seeing a lot of interface restarts. The message I get is "Primary Local Area Network (LAN) connection terminated after 13 minute(s), 45 second(s)" and shortly after "Primary Local Area Network (LAN) connection established, IP a.b.c.d was assigned" where a.b.c.d is my static IP address on my cable network.

This happens at intervals from less than a minute to over 40 minutes.

My cable provider (TelstraClear in New Zealand) have checked the line and say they can see no issues with the modem or line and signal strength is good.

I'm pretty sure this problem is not new but would like to be assured that noone else is seeing this on Z100Gs.

Cheers,
jim

Hi Jim,

I have the same problem since the 7.x.x firmware and no solution yet, the PPPoE line is dropping without any reason.

Will try another box (one colleague has the same device) in the next days.

Regards,

I have had this happen sometimes. But eventually it does stop for a while - up to a week or more. Since it happens several days apart it is not really bothersome.

I have been wondering if it is due to some kind of traffic hitting it and causing either the ISP to drop the line or if the Z110G has a bug.

I'm losing connection to the internet a lot recently (maybe two weeks). Seems intermittent - no pattern. I'll check the logs next time it happens. A reboot solves for a short time.

I just got my router the other day and have experienced several reboots. A couple happened after I tried a VPN connection (unsuccessfully). Another reboot this morning. Had radio live streaming and I just tried to log into the router when it went bloop. As far as I could tell, the modem had a solid connection. The router was having trouble reestablishing a connection, so I unplugged it, waited a few seconds, then plugged it in. It's been stable the rest of the day.

Also, I noticed an upgrade happened later in the day (I hadn't yet gotten my subscription approved until this AM). Maybe that'll solve the problem... .

Hi Jim,
Did you get your issue resolved? I'm also connected to TCL via cable and have the same issue. Had a Linksys beforehand and this didn't appear to have any issues. Have been chat'ing with Olga and have tried two new firmware updates with the latest being 7.5.51x and it's still not fixed.
Regds,
Mark Krynen
