On my network I have the Z100G with 5 licenses. I have a network printer, 3 PCs, a HDHomeRun (network TV box), a PS2, and an XBOX360. I also have an iPhone, which I connect wirelessly. The printer and HDHomeRun are not connecting to the Internet (ever). I have all of the devices registered so they get their same IP address - for simplicity. Also the ps2 and XBOX never connect at the same time. Are my HDHomrun and printer being counted as "connections"? I want to make certain I am within the licensing, but if I can stay within my 5 it is preferred. Also, is upping to the next tier-15 licenses a one time cost or do you have to pay a charge each year?
Thanks |

You can check what devices are connected to the Internet using the tools included in the Z100's web interface. It is under the "Reports" section and the "my Computers" tab. Devices on the network and communicating with the Internet will be in green. Devices on the network only are in blue.
Network devices that get their time from the Internet can take a license. I have a ethernet connected hard drive that took one before I blocked it using a rule. This message has been edited. Last edited by: KBR, |

I have a similar issue at my house....
As KBR referenced, the report page will let you see what is sucking down the licenses. I took the gateway IP address out of my network attached printers which freed up the licenses they thought they needed (but really did NOT... ) The later versions of firmware are better at releasing a license when it is inactive, but still we bump the ceiling at my house ... I wish that 1) the company would see fit to sell a 5 license upgrade for $50 and 2) You could specify priority for some devices wanting to connect ... (I do not like not being able to get on the the internet when I get home as a result of my son and 3 of his buddies using their Apple touches ... ;-) I have submitted both of these suggestions formally....
