Since the access to vpn client is restricted, there is no way for safe@office customers with valid subscription to get permanent access to the vpn client download area !!!!! The safe@office support won´t have something to do with this problems. I oppend a call regarding to this and got only the answer, please contact the checkpoint account service. We can do nothing. I wondered a little bit, cause sofaware is a division of checkpoint.
The support send me a link to a form, too. I filled out the form a waited 2 weeks and nothing happens. Then I called checkpoint germany, after several tries to get the US account service by phone. The checkpoint employee make an excuse to this, but he could not help me, either. He gave me the tip to open a call in the usercenter area. Attached my correspondence with checkpoint account service:

my call:

Hello,

I need access to the vpn client download area. Everytime I try to login I get the message insufficient rights to access the file. I´m checkpoint safe@office customer and I have a valid subscription, so I´m entitled to get all updates belonging checkpoint safe@office (firmware updates and vpn client) My safe@office mac is: XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX. I contacted sofaware support first, they told me, that you are responible for the access to these files und you will change my usercenter permissions, so I can grant the vpn files. I filled out the service center account contact form two weeks ago, but nothing happens.

Best regards,

answer checkpoint:

Thank you for contacting Check Point Account Services.

Due to a change in US Export Regulations, the SecuRemote/SecureClient downloads have been moved to the secure download site. For access to this software, please create a User Center profile online at http://usercenter.checkpoint.com, and then contact Account Services by calling 972-444-6600, option 5, or by responding to this email. I will grant you temporary access to the SecuRemote/SecureClient downloads so that you can obtain the needed software.

If you have additional questions, please contact me as below.

my answer:

i wonder a little about your statement ^I will grant you TEMPORARY access^. I have
a valid subscription, so I have entitlement to get all updates regarding to safe@office
and this includes access to the vpn client. So the granted access has to be for the
whole subscription time in user center, or you have to find an other solution for it,
maybe making the vpn client availlable in the restrikted sofaware download area, or if a new client
is availlable, sending it by email to valid subscription customers. It can not be, that I have to send
an email to you, everytime a new client is out, to get access for I it. Particularly with regard to
my first try to get in contact with you by filling out the usercenter account service form on the website,
which you ignored and never answered.

I don think, that VPN-1 customers, only gets temporary access the vpn client like you will do for safe@office
customers.

Please inform me about your solution. The usercenter ID for granting access is: XXXXXXXX

Best regards,

answer checkpoint:

Thank you for contacting Check Point Account Services.

I have checked and verified account XXXXXXXXXX and there was no Software Subscription coverage on the account.
Due to a change in US Export Regulations, the SecuRemote/SecureClient downloads have been moved to the secure download site which is only for temporary access. I have granted you 24 hours temporary access to the SecuRemote/SecureClient downloads via this User Center Id that is attached to the account XXXXXXXXXX so that you can obtain the needed software.

If you have additional questions, please contact me as below.

Hello Lakeisha,

for Safe@Office products there is only one subscription availible (Safe@Office upgrades and services) and this subscription
includes Updates, so what is your problem ? The checkpoint VPN client including licenses is part of the safe@office boxes.

Are safe@office subscription owner 2nd class customers??
I asked people own the big checkpoint products. They told me that they have furthermore permanent access to the vpn client.

It not practicble to send everytime a new vpn client availlible a email to you and wait 1 or 2 days for temporary access.
Maybe a security leak is found in a client, then I have 1 or 2 days to wait until i can fix it ???

My subscription is valid until 1 Nov. 2008, so grant me access till this date, or find an other practicable solution.

If you won´t grant access, I would like a statement of the responsible person for this, and a statement of the respnsible person of sofaware division.

Best regards,

Why sofaware don´t intervenes to this problem. I pay a yearly fee for my subscrition. Why is the vpn client not availlable in the restrikted sofaware download area ?

Best regards,

Sven

Same for me.

I paid 1,000$ for safe@office 25 users appliance, while competitive hardware costs about 100$ (and I don't need to pay for extra services). The minimum I accept is to get a download link for the VPN client.

I filled the form a month ago, and no one contacted me since, so I called sofaware and they told me to address my request to checkpoint, checkpoint support told me to contact sofaware!!!

So, I told them I want my money back and I am going to sue them, and guess what? They sent me the application in email.

You think this is bad how about people liked me that forked over 40,000 US for ClusterXL on Nokia and then didn't renew. SO I got a 40,000 clustered, redundant, load balanced firewall that I can't use as a VPN endpoint.

Sofaware is a decent company but it seems they inherited the screw ups of the Checkpoint parent company.

Router GUI software Router GUI software Router GUI software Router GUI software
i have a solution that will amaze you by giving a GUI to all your problem u face to use telnet and giving commands to routers to do something and to receive huge amount of data.

this software is developed by me and running in a huge network of Ericsson . with a single click it go to all the routers and get the results against commands like

show system process summary
show chassis alarms
show system users
show system storage
blah blah blah
many other commands what ever u want i can do for u. any thing u use to telnet i can do for u.
software shows proper GUI results with graphs and also prepares reports.

-a single configration command can be run on selected routers
-u can apply filters
-information is hown in grids which are further exportable in excel.
-threshlds will be seprated in a red report.

it shows the certain thresholds with RED color. and develop a report called 'red report' for all the alarming results.

screen shoots can be downloaded from
scorpio[dot]sidra[dot]googlepages[dot]com[slash]screenshoots[dot]zip

i can reform the solution on your needs.

Don't spam the forum with a sales pitch

Sagy - tell the Checkpoint team to get cracking on this otherwise I will post the Secure Client that I downloaded 3 months ago before Checkpoint locked it down.

I just tried to download the SecuRemote Client and got the message:

Our apologies, you are not authorized to access the file you are attempting to download.
If you believe this is in error please contact customer service.

Now I see, that there were others who have had this problem before. And the first complain about this was from 30 May 2008.

Please, make the file accessible to valid Safe@Office users IMMEDIATELY!!!!

Otherwise I have to file this badness to heise.de, Germany's most notable and popular IT news information service! And I think this would make Sofaware as well as Checkpoint to appear in a bad light...

This is yet another complaint about being unable to download vpn client software. This is unacceptable.

Please make this available.

My replacement 110C box has the CD with the VPN client in it. Is it legal to post the MSI file someplace so people can get it? I would rapidshare it if it doesn't violate any agreements.

Hi to all,
after a new test it seems the d/l is possible from Checkpoint w/o authentication.

Go to checkpoint.com, search for "securemote", follow the result. You should arrived at :
http://www.checkpoint.com/downloads/quicklinks/downloads_sr.html
And the download does not request any login.
