Hi,
We have a Safe@Office 500 with PowerPack and vStream Antivirus. Recently the internetline got upgraded from 4Mbit down/512kbit up to a 10Mbit up and down line :) We did some speedtests and behind the router we got this speed. Behind the firewall it was abnormally low. We disabled AV and then we got 9 Mbit up/down. A "reset vstream" does not help. Does anyone have a high speed WAN and AV on their box? Can you check what speeds you get? The only AV rule we have is LAN to WAN(Internet) for http in download direction: scan. Are these appliances not able to process 10 Mbit WAN's with AV active? The best results were 2.2 Mbit down/up. Same issue on 7.0.48x and 7.5.55x |

For what is it worth:
Sorry to say that we don't have Antivirus with our gateway. But we have upgraded last month to 10/10 mbit fiber, and also experienced slow rates with firmware 7.5.55x with the webfilter enabled. After upgrading to 8.0 the speed is much, much better. Sofaware fixed some speed bugs in that firmware. Don't know if that is also the case for antivirus... |

Arjen, thanks for your reply.
We also had to default SmartDefense to get better speed. We'll keep an eye on version 8.0 and will upgrade once it gets official. |
