first post, have new wireless edge box for home, just upgraded from 7.5.51 firmware to EA8 to try to enhance performance. Upgrade has not helped. Performance is around 10 to 20% of the supplied sky netgear dg834gt.

Rules are simple with port forwarding for bittorrents.

speedtest.net on netgear gives around 7MB, on edge is 1.2MB.

have turned off all smartdefence to no avail.

PPPoA, VPI 0, VCI 38, G.DMT and VCMUX are the connecion settings.

Anyone have any idea why the Edge box performs so poorly compared to the netgear?

What DSL modem firmware load or you on?

Had a similar issue with a Nildram circuit (also a LLU ISP). I was advised to change the modulation setting from G.DMT to Multimode (Network --> Internet --> Primary [PPPoA] --> Edit --> ADSL Settings --> DSL Standard).

If it doesn't work, you can always switch it back (assuming you are LAN side).
