Hi,

On a remote site we have a VPN-1 Edge X embedded NGX, firmware 6.076X.

A few years ago, we were limited to 30 rules and the number (cannot recall the number) of VPN tunnel with other sites.

We would like to use that site as a DR site and create new tunnels on the Edge to be able to access all our sites from this one, in case our primary site is down. We do not want to use our primary site Checkpoint NGX to manage the Edge.

Would an upgrade to the latest firmware allow this?

Did the unit changed name too (ie VPN-1 UTM) as I notices that firware stopped at 6.5 for Edge but carries on to 8.x for Edege UTM?

For those interrested to know:
I have upgraded to version 7.5.5 and it transforms the Edge X into an Edge UTM.
As far as I can see, there does not seem to be any limits of the number of rules and VPN

I think that since version 7 the limitation was raised to 100 rules.
