Hi all,

we have a SMP running but no AV license for it. On the other hand we have boxes with AV lics. How does it work right now?
From my understanding we need a valid AV license for the SMP to update the boxes with AV udpates through the smp, right?
Do the lics from not help somehow? Or do we have to download the updates on the boxes itself without activating the function in the plan?

The AV license in the SMP is actually AV updates, so if you do not have AV license, the AV signatues DB in the boxes will not be updated. In this case, the AV on the boxes does not help you.
The best way to get the AV DB updated on the gateways is via the SMP, this way the updates are done automatically immediately when a new DB is released.

hmm...already expected stuff like this, typical CP license behavior.
