Greetings,
I'm new to SMP and was looking to find a means to manage Safe@ devices in order to accomdate users that will have Dynamic IPs and need VPN access to Checkpoint FW1-R60 gateway. I ran into a snag when trying to configure policies for the Safe@s.. The help and SMP6_admin_guide says i should refer to 'SofaWare SmartCenter Connector User Guide'. I have access to Checkpoint and Sofaware downloads but can't find this info anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks for your time, Ryan |

Hello Ryan,
Please refer to the NGX VPN-1 UTM Edge Embedded Management Guide regarding how to create a security policy. ( http://www.checkpoint.com/support/technical/documents/docs_r60.html ). On the FW-1 machine, the policy file (*.pfz) will be created under this path: %FWDIR%\FW1_EDGE_BC\tmp\ Please load this pfz file to the SMP as described on the SMP User Guide Regards, Yale |

Yale,
Thanks a lot for the response. This doc only has info on creating policies using Smart Center Server /gateways managed by SCS. I've created real policies for like X-series boxes on my CMA and the Xseries box pulls them fine.. no '*.pfz' files are needed, obviously. I'm doing this for a Safe@office/home appliance though. Maybe I'm blind here. Please help. Thanks, Ryan |
