Hey Guys,

we updated succesfully our SMP from version 4 to 5. Everthing is fine, besides the security log from the gateways. The logfile is succesfully generated in $SMP_HOME/Sofaware/instances/SMP_Instance/logs with content from the gateways
but it's not displayed in the SMP itself -> Logs -> Security. Any ideas why it's missing?

Hi,

SMP 5.0 contains an internal syslog server instead of the external one used with SMP 4.0. In order to see the security logs, you should activate this syslog server using SMC->System->Settings->Logging and make sure the Server Group logging policy use this server.
On a clean installation (not upgrade) this is done automatically.

Unfortunately it's still the same problem, settings are ok and everthing looks fine but there are not any security logs shown Frown
I think it comes from the update...

You should check one more thing - maybe the "Logging & Reporting" service is disabled in your plan.

Anyway if you still can't get it to work I suggest sending the problem description to support@sofaware.com and I believe it will be solved quickly.

litlle late...but everthing is fine and well configured but does not work. Server is on Win2k and will be reinstalled one day, I hope things are going fine then
