Hi,

I wanted to resintall our SMP 7 on a new server but am having in issue at the point where the AD schema is being installed. The AD is on a remote box and the error during install is :
Fatal error 3021: Failed to install Active Directory schema
Installation will be aborted.
Looking in the instal logfile, it says :

Hi Jeroen,

SMP 7.0 and earlier versions have a problem with re-installing on the same AD server.
The only way to solve it is to demote the server and then promote it back (using DCPromo).

NOTE THAT THIS WILL CLEAR ALL THE DATA IN THE AD AND SHOULD BE USED WITH EXTREME CAUTION!!!!!
If this AD is holding your domain, DO NOT USE THIS PROCEDURE! Instead you can install a different server with AD for the SMP.

This issue has been fixed in SMP 8.0.

Hi Jeroen,
I am afraid I was not clear.
There is no solution in case of uninstalling SMP 7.0 other than demoting and prompting the AD server or installing on a different server.
The fix in 8.0 allows uninstalling of 8.0 and installing 8.0 or higher versions.

SofaWare SMP does not support Vista nor Vista 64. Also, what do you mean by SMP client???
