Hi guys,
After integrating SMP 6.0 with websense(in UFP), can we see the client's IP addresses (mean clients behind sofa boxes) on the Websense reports? Did anybody try this? \ There is a limitation in SmartLSM or Smartcenter. URL filtering is working fine, but one can only see requests coming from 127.0.0.1 ip address in websense reports. Past experiences, comments are appreciated. |

You need to define a workstation/host with the client's IP address on the Websense and attach it to a policy and then you should be able to see the client's IP address behind the box.

It is happen to see many limitations in the integrations or installations which is generally not documented in the install/admin manuals.
SMP websense integration seems to be work referancing the document, but i wonder if someone does the integration in SMP 6.0 and Websense 6.x in UFP mode, and ABLE to write different policies for the clients behind the boxes, and get Client IP based reports from the websense. I tried and see: in SmartCenter integration (UFP) of websense with sofaboxes (edges), one cannot manage client policies and get reports based on client IP addresses. As it is configured on global policy and only option is to enable and disable filtering. |
