Hi Everyone,

I would like to use firmware 6.0.36 with Smartcenter version NG R55 HFA 15.

When I try to update policy, I receive in the log file the message
"Wrong update version in policy (got 205 instead of 300".
I assume this is due to a too low version of Smartcenter. Which is the minimum version or what else goes wrong?

Any help is highly appreciated.

Same behavior with SmartCenter NGX R60 HFA01 but "(got 243 intead of 300)"
No Info on Checkpoint Site nor Sofaware Site to this issue.

Hi,

this is a known problem, change in "SofawareLoader.ini" is required. The following line "PolicyUpdateVersion=XXX" must be changed to "PolicyUpdateVersion=300".

Reinstall Policy and the edges can get the new policy with firmware 6.xx , the older firmware works fine too.

On version NGX R60 there is no variable PolicyUpdateVersion= in the SofawareLoader.ini

This fix not working for me.

It was hart to find the SofawareLoader.ini but i hope i found the right under /var/opt/CPEdgecmp/conf.
But in this file is no PolicyUpdateVersion key.

Is there no official statement from Sofaware about the Problem ?

The "PolicyUpdateVersion" is located in the policy.ini under the FW1\R60\fw1\libsw and FW1_EDGE_BC\libsw. In my case, I modified the value and pushed policy again.

There's now a 6.0.36 libsw download on Check Point's site.

In order to use 6.0.36 firmware and SmartCenter you need to replace the libsw directory in the management.

To replace the libsw on Splat ( R55 )
1. The libsw is located here: /opt/CPfw41-bc/libsw
2. Backup the current libsw to a different directory.
3. Extract and copy the attached files to the same directory
4. Compile the policy again on all the profiles available, and make sure that the box fetches the policy.

To replace the libsw on win2000 ( R55 )
1.The libsw is located here: [BCDIR]/libsw
2. Backup the current libsw
3. Extract and copy the attached files to the same directory

Ey everyone, in NGX R60, i changed the value in /opt/CPEdgecmp/libsw/policy.ini, the value is: PolicyUpdateVersion=300.

Same behavior with SmartCenter NGX R61 and the new NGX 6.5.35x.
In this case the minimum Policy version is 400.
Error: "Failed to install updated security policy 06Sep2006 09:01:21 Wrong update version in policy (got 317 instead of 400)"

The solution is: edit "...libsw/policy.ini" and modify PolicyUpdateVersion's value in to 400
